I’m really loving Steven Bonners illustrations, especially his illustrated typography.
Calligraffiti fuses calligraphy and graffiti by mixing beautiful and conventional calligraphy with the unrefined and gritty effects of graffiti. Calligraphy is about the art of writing and can have many forms. Whether it be Japanese ancient brush characters, Arabic pictorial scripts, illuminated medieval books or swirly quill writing… all calligraphy.
Calligraffiti, is a concept in art developed by Niels Meulman. I first acknowledged Meulmans calligraffiti on an advert for Mercedes. Mercedes asked Niels Meulman to customize a white Mercedes B-Class with hundreds of women’s names. These names symbolise all the Dutch women for whom the Pink Ribbon foundation works tirelessly. The advert can be seen here
